Meet the Equus Vets Team

Our veterinary and practice team bring not just a wealth of experience, but also a passionate approach and a complete understanding of horses and the equine industry.

Jon Herrod-Taylor
Jon Herrod-Taylor
Veterinary Surgeon

Jon graduated from the Royal Veterinary College London in 1980, and has worked at North Park ever since. He took over the equine arm of the practice in 1989, and his special interests are foal medicine and lameness. Jon’s father was both a veterinary surgeon and a McTimoney practitioner, and Jon rode in his youth before back surgery forced riding onto the back burner. In his spare time Jon is a keen bodyboarder, and also enjoys gardening and rugby.

Hayden Webb
Hayden Webb
Veterinary Surgeon

Hayden took an unusual route into veterinary medicine; first completing a degree in equine science, where his thesis examined the effects of jetlag in racehorses, before graduating from Bristol as a fully qualified vet in 2010. He joined the team at North Park immediately after graduating, starting off in mixed practice before fulfilling a lifelong ambition when moving across to specialise in horses, with a particular interest in medicine. Hayden has ridden all his life, and is a reformed showjumper who now spends his spare time hunting and team chasing. He also attends several point-to-point meetings as the on-duty vet, and enjoys part-owning a point-to-point horse called Ted Speed.

Irma Rosati
Irma Rosati
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Med Vet PhD MRCVS

Irma is one of the leading reproductive vets in the UK, and joined Equus Vets in early 2018. She has previously worked at the prestigious Gestu?t Lewitz, as part of a team achieving more than 1,000 pregnancies per season, half of which were by ET. Irma specialises in hypofertility, embryo transfer, and low-dose artificial insemination. Irma has been at the forefront of research into artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) in horses for several years, and has several published scientific papers on topics ranging from semen freezing to vitrification of oocytes. She is a keen rider and breeder herself, and competed in jumping and eventing in her native Italy before emigrating. Irma is happy to answer any breeding queries you may have, and is available for consultation and advice on problem mares.

Charlie Hewlett
Charlie Hewlett

Charlie joined our sister practice at North Park Vets in 2014 and has been the first point of contact for many of our clients ever since. As a rider and horsewoman herself, Charlie is extremely knowledgeable and was the perfect fit for the new team at Equus Vets. Prior to joining the team at North Park, Charlie worked at Shovern Stud, and she has two horses of her own, a dressage mare Shovern Hat-Trick, and her hunt horse Rebel.
